With the help of Conservation Ambassadors, classroom lessons for the year were concluded for a second consecutive year covering topics such as rocky shores, mangroves, lagoons and open oceans.
Reef Ranger lessons have also featured a variety of interactive and engaging learning tools in addition to classroom sessions to drive their conservation messages home. Using arts and crafts the children have been able harness their creativity in a fun and educational way to show what they have learnt, displayed during the annual Ecofestival at the end of the year. For the first time, following their annual assessment, the most outstanding Reef Rangers were presented with awards at the school’s end of year prize-giving ceremony. The Reef Rangers were also featured in the Fiji Times!
Class 8 student Alitia Vauvau, who will be continuing her education on the mainland next year, expressed sentiments that she had “enjoyed working with C3 and Reef Rangers has helped her a lot to know more about her resources and how she should take care of them”.
