New paper on rapid bycatch assessment

Over the last year or so, we have been working closely with the great guys at Project GloBAL to develop a new protocol to quickly assess bycatch in small scale fisheries at low cost.  We came up with  a questionnaire which was then piloted in several countries across the globe.  In this paper in Biological Conservation, we discuss some of the benefits of this approach and lessons learned from this experience. We hope that our findings can be applied in other countries to collect data on bycatch before its too late for the sea turtles, sharks and marine mammals that are at risk.
