More coral reef fish than anywhere else on the planet!

According to a recent paper written by our good friends at Wildlife Conservation Society, Fiji, the biomass of coral reef fish on the Great Sea Reef, one of our main study sites in Fiji can reach 8,145.8 kg ha-1, possibly one of the highest in the world when you compare it to other pristine reef sites such as Kingman or Palmyra Atols.  We already knew that the Great Sea Reef was an incredible place, but these data clearly demonstrate its importance on a global scale and necessity to ensure its protection while considering the fisheries needs of local communities.
