If I was to write a few lines to describe myself, I would say that from the moment I first set foot on the College of Forestry in UP Los Baños as a freshman in June of 1990, I already knew what my gig was going to be: I was to be my country’s one and only hope in saving the Philippine environment.

Youth does that.

After spending two decades in the arena of sustainable development and biodiversity conservation, hindsight has taught me that the Philippine environment will indeed be saved and that the country’s hope lies not with me at all. That privilege goes to the legion of others who share my vision of a country where people thrive in harmony with their natural environment.

C3 is my most current expression of that shared vision. I joined it in May 2011.

Our work continues.

Whenever I’m NOT working, I try to catch up on my reading as I am an avid fan of speculative fiction. Some of my favorite authors include Philip K. Dick (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep), Robert A. Heinlein (Starship Troopers) and Tim O’Brien (The Things They Carried).
