Conservation education materials and activities spread across Kia

Kia‘s Conservation Ambassador are a group of about 20 key individuals selected by local chiefs and C3 to receive training and improve the local knowledge and understanding of the conservation significance of the Great Sea Reef.

In October, the Conservation Ambassadors successfully completed four modules in ecological and socio-economic monitoring, which included theory and practical sessions. In addition to learning these hands on skills, Conservation Ambassadors were also taught social marketing lessons and have contributed not only to the development of awareness materials including sarongs and t-shirts, noticeboard updates, costumes, posters and other exciting outputs, but have also helped plan and organize various booths for the annual Ecofestival held in December to celebrate small successes and the culmination of activities throughout the year.
